Following on from her breakthrough single “DND” (1M+ streams) and huge recent follow-up “Pajamas”, Atlanta rising talent AKIA continues to command attention as one of the most standout new voices in the R&B landscape. With a new Freedom Songs collaboration with APPLE MUSIC to celebrate Black Music Month nodding to her building industry heat, Akia now releases her sophomore EP CRAZY - the next instalment from her ongoing DUMB CRAZY STUPID series — a nod to TLC’s CrazySexyCool - set for release on 27th June, 2025.

From the same stable that launched Atlanta rap superstars JID and EarthGang, AKIA is rapidly gaining traction across both sides of the Atlantic for crafting some of the most addictive R&B records to surface this year – with critical attention bubbling across the likes of WONDERLAND, BILLBOARD, VIBE and COLORS BERLIN amongst others. 

CRAZY now emerges as a tapestry of three immaculate, interwoven tracks balancing gloss, intimacy and natural aura - from the synth-soaked, intoxicating opener “BACK IN BED WITH YOU” to the slow-burning “LOVE SOMEBODY”, the project blends equal parts vulnerability, fun and finesse and will continue the sense of thought-out quality control around her expanding repertoire.

Speaking on the single, AKIA explains: "The ‘Crazy’ EP is probably my favourite EP out of all three. It’s fun and crazy…I feel like a lot of people will notice my versatility.”

With influences spanning Beyonce, Keyshia Cole, Monica and Brandy, the Forrest City, Arkansas-born artist started building a cult following via viral live streams of her stripped-back vocal performances: raw talent that would lead to significant collaborations with the likes of GloRilla, as well as hitmaker co-signs from the likes of Jermaine Dupri, TM88 and Stevie J before signing to Sincethe80s - home to Atlanta rap superstars EarthGang and JID.
