Charlotte Plank drops the eclectic ‘candy stores’ ahead of long-awaited ‘ClubLiminal’ EP
BRIT-nominated, alt-pop star Charlotte Plank drops the anthemic ‘candy stores’ ahead of her highly anticipated EP ‘ClubLiminal’ set for release Friday 2nd May.
Out Friday 11th April, ‘candy stores’ is the latest addition to Plank’s forthcoming eight-track EP and is a euphoric hit produced by the unstoppable WhyTek, the duo behind hits like Central Cee’s Doja Cat, FLO’s Fly Girl and Aitch’s Taste (Make It Shake).
Set to become a standout this year with its addictive chorus and jungle-infused ad libs, the track perfectly captures Charlotte’s brilliance – an unfiltered tale of chaos and coming of age.
“I write best when commenting on the world around me, romanticising everything so it almost feels like I’m soundtracking some modern fairytale or coming of age film – it feels epic, cinematic, but has real and relatable storytelling. ‘candy stores’ really explores that with its industrial, ethereal, anthemic feel. It’s a reminder to zoom out for a minute - if our minds are too overloaded with the pressures of daily life, insanity may get us first.”
Released in line with the Aussie-Brit’s four-date ClubLiminal UK Tour (25th April – 1st May 2025), the ‘ClubLiminal’ EP will drop on Friday 2nd May featuring fan favourites ‘nightshift’, ‘stargirl’ and ‘rage’. Accompanied by an all-female band bringing each track to life on stage, audiences can expect to be fully immersed in Charlotte’s unique sonic universe of rave-inspired melodies intertwined with introspective narratives. Post-tour fans will be able to catch her performing at Reading & Leeds Festival 2025, alongside some of the scene’s greats.
On the forthcoming EP release, Charlotte said:
‘ClubLiminal’ a mix of hedonistic, indie tinged dance music that weaves between intimacy and chaos. Real, relatable, unfiltered storytelling about youth, being in a transitional state, coming of age over club music that will tap into your subliminal thoughts and make you feel something on the dance floor. Giving it nostalgic elements tied together with my trademark sounds giving it a new unique feel.”
Transporting listeners straight to the dancefloor with her forthcoming body of work, Charlotte continues on the rise, establishing herself as one of the UK’s most exciting new artists.
