chlothegod delivers 'I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe)', alongside focus track "Sorry To Cancel"
North Carolina-born, LA-based singer-songwriter chlothegod returns with I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe) – dropped alongside the powerful focus track “Sorry To Cancel” via EQT Recordings.
Warm, rugged and self-assured, I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe) exudes the electric energy you’d expect from chlothegod, following the frantic journey of a rising creative, and young woman understanding who she is and who she has yet to become. Expressing her own experiences of love and heartbreak, artistic freedom and frustration, and a newfound emotional safety within her community, chlo’s raw, intricate lyricism showcases intimate experiences that flourish into an enigmatic display of authority and vulnerability. A transformative moment, I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe) balances external validation with real growth to inspire others in search of the same comfort, creating something truly impactful for her community and beyond.
Boasting a unique blend of psychedelic rock, indie, alt-pop and R&B, the eleven-track deluxe is executively produced by Mike Irish (serpentwithfeet, Khary), and holds further production from the likes of Monro (Nines, JID, Jhené Aiko), Lecx Stacy (Eartheater, Deb Never, Jean Dawson) and Louie Lastic (Kali Uchis, GoldLink, Kehlani) – opening pockets for chlothegod to uncover and examine her own affirmations. From the searing, stripped-back “I Know What Everyone Says About Me” and the blistering pop-punk cut “Digging Around” to the vibrant offerings “Why Would I” and “Sorry To Cancel”, chlo encapsulates this struggle with a tongue-in-cheek portrayal of the slow, imperfect process of growth and recognising self-worth.
Battling toxic influences and the vicious cycle of mental health that pushes her towards self-defence, the young talent reaches a critical moment of self-reflection across the infectious title track “I Feel Different Every Day”, exploding into a fever-dream of blistering rock before “That’s Life” exposes the painful self-awareness that follows suit. Closing out with breezy guitars and intimate vocal harmonies, chlo lilts: “I think we’ll be alright” – her hedonistic commentary elevated through self-love, and the complexity of modern life becoming a testament to her powers of documentation as a young woman coming into her own.
Speaking on the deluxe, chlothegod mentions: “For I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe), I wanted to play with saying plainly the rollercoaster of emotion is coming to an end and ultimately facing the hurt head on. Writing songs like “sorry to cancel” allowed me to leave space in both the music and in myself, acknowledging the way my heart has been broken and the breaking I’ve also done. I’m no stranger to admitting my screws come loose, and while falling into old patterns is not the permanent solution, a track like “I think I” gives me some well-deserved payback.“
She adds: “Above all I wanted to add new songs to spend a few more minutes on stage and with my fans for my first-ever headline tour this spring! I hope my efforts to share myself in the music makes my listeners feel comfortable to share themselves with me in real life.”Before she was Party Nails, Elana Carroll was a guitar-toting tween, playing any open mic near her hometown of Chatham, New York. At home she recorded herself with Garageband, instigating a love of music technology which continues to this day. Party Nails debuted in 2015 on Neon Gold’s famed blog with Break. Her first tour in 2017 (with PVRIS and Lights) ushered in a devoted fanbase, and her live performances continue to be a core facet of her artistry, being equal parts Madonna, Hayley Williams, and Sheryl Crow. In 2020 she wrote Rockin' on the Rag, a song about period pride, for Loren Bouchard’s Apple animated series Central Park, wrote and produced the Le Tigre-infused Supernatural for feminist rock duo Deap Vally, and continued to lend her vocals to other musicians (LŪN, Urban Heat, Battle Tapes, MitiS, Getter, and others have featured her vocals on their releases). Her music has been in movies and television (Glass, Girls, The L Word: Generation Q, Nancy Drew, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin) featured in various media outlets (Billboard, PAPER, Noisey, Earmilk, Paste and more) and included on Spotify Editorial playlists such as Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, and Undercurrents. She operates a recording studio, Top Coat, in Los Angeles, where she records, produces and mixes for other artists as well as her own projects.
With a key support slot alongside the acclaimed vocalist Orion Sun in May, chlo will be taking on her own debut headline tour this Spring. Delivering incendiary performances across major cities in North America later this month, from NYC to LA, the rising talent is set to bring her incendiary sound waves to The Victoria, Dalston (June 18th) – chlo’s highly anticipated return to London since supporting Olivia Dean at The Hammersmith Apollo last year.
Continuing to earn attention since her breakout record “Camille” (4M+ streams) – an ode to queer love and the unique spectrum of dating – chlothegod delivered her sleek and introspective debut EP Nearly Straight in 2023. A pivotal moment that solidified her presence as a key new voice, chlo followed up with a stunning COLORS performance for the lead track “UGOMDN”. Holding significant co-signs across collaborative singles with Baby Rose on “Bless Your Heart pt.2”, Amindi on “Good Guys pt.2” and Mick Jenkins across “UGOMDN pt.2”, the young artist and creative toured North America alongside British superstar Lola Young before dropping their joint record “Outta My Mind pt.2” last year. With international acclaim coming from CLASH MAGAZINE, who marked her as an “Artist Who Could Define 2025”, chlothegod would later drop her recent EP I Feel Different Every Day, which collected serious artist love from the likes of Duckwrth, chi, Amaarae and more – a pillar of the legacy she’s building right now.
chlothegod’s rich sonic palette and the quality on display across I Feel Different Every Day (Deluxe) will continue to underline her as a key artist across both sides of the Atlantic; a milestone moment for one of the brightest stars in the landscape right now.
