Only Fire & Deto Black
Serve Summer Heat On
“Hunny”
Berlin-based producer, DJ, and underground provocateur Only Fire returns with “HUNNY” – a hypnotic dancefloor anthem featuring boundary-pushing rapper Deto Black.
Built on the same icy, text-to-speech vocals that made Only Fire a cult favourite, “HUNNY” breaks new ground: rawer, raunchier, and louder than ever before. Produced in Berlin and recorded in Lagos, “HUNNY” is a sonic seduction, powered by a strobe-lit beat and addictive repetition – a punchy collision of camp, kink, and club energy that refuses to be ignored.
Marking his debut release on Epic UK after years as an independent artist, the track signals a pivotal moment in Only Fire’s journey – both a celebration and a reinvention. What began as a DIY necessity (using Siri vocals because he “didn’t have access to vocalists and didn’t like how [his] own voice sounded”) has evolved into a distinct artistic language, now expanded through collaborations with the very artists who once inspired him.
Meanwhile, Deto Black’s appearance on “HUNNY” brings a cross-continental edge. The Lagos-based rapper and style provocateur has become a standout in Nigeria’s Alté scene, known for breaking taboos around female sexuality and spearheading her own genre-bending “Nollypop” sound. Fresh off opening for Rema at London’s O2 Arena, Black brings a commanding presence to “HUNNY” that cuts straight through the track’s heat.
Speaking on “HUNNY”, Only Fire shared the following: “I’ve been bopping to Deto Black ever since I found out about her music and was so happy to work together on ‘HUNNY.’ I feel like our styles work so well together and can’t wait for everyone to hear this track!”
“HUNNY” follows a recent remix by Only Fire of Kesha’s “BOY CRAZY,” which pushed his reach further into pop territory, while previous cuts with Heidi Montag, COBRAH, and Isabella Lovestory continue to circulate virally online. Despite his growing profile, Only Fire’s sound remains unapologetic, queer, self-produced, and designed to make bodies move.
With “HUNNY” serving as the first entry into his most feature-heavy era to date, Only Fire leans deeper into his signature tension: high gloss, high camp, and highly danceable.
